Why Windows Can See Your Controller While DS4Windows Cannot

 A controller that works in Windows but does not appear inside DS4Windows can be surprisingly difficult to diagnose because several completely different problems can produce the same symptom. The first thing to determine is whether Windows is actually receiving controller data. A controller lighting up when connected through USB does not necessarily prove that the connection works. USB cables can carry power without carrying data, so a controller may charge normally while remaining invisible to controller software. Testing another known data-capable cable and another USB port can quickly eliminate this possibility. Another common issue is controller-type support. DS4Windows does not necessarily search for every supported controller family automatically.
